Lewis Stewart · Web design & local marketing · Wroughton, Swindon

You know the site isn't pulling its weight.

I'm Lewis. I build websites for local businesses like landscapers, trades, cafés, salons and clinics, and then help more of the right people find them. It's just me, so the person on the first call is the one who builds your site and checks it every month after it goes live. My starting prices are on this page, and you'll get a fixed price in writing before I start anything.

Free guide GD-01

I wrote a free 7-page guide for local businesses: the 20-minute Google Business Profile setup that decides whether you appear when someone nearby searches for what you do, and a way to ask for reviews that doesn't feel awkward.

Put your email in and the download link arrives in your inbox. That's all you get unless you tick the optional box for occasional tips and offers. I may show you my ads afterwards, and the privacy policy explains how to opt out.

What I do

Most people come to me for a website, then ask about getting found, ads or email once it's live. You can have any of these on its own, but a site nobody visits won't win you much work, so they tend to go together. Ecommerce growth is for a different kind of business: if you sell products online, start there.

SV-01 Website design & build

I write the code myself instead of using a theme or a page builder. It loads fast on a phone, works on any screen, and you won't pay a monthly builder subscription or have plugins break after an update. I write the words too, and everything on the page is there to get visitors to call, message or book.

SV-02 Brand & print design

A logo that still reads on the side of a van and as a tiny icon in a browser tab. Then the things you actually hand to people: business cards, signs, van livery, leaflets, price lists and menus. Your website and the sign outside end up looking like the same business, and for a small firm that's most of what a brand comes down to.

SV-03 Local SEO

This is about showing up when someone nearby searches for what you do. I set up your Google Business Profile properly, give each service its own page, write the towns you really cover into the site, add the schema markup Google reads, and set up an easy way to ask happy customers for a review.

SV-04 Facebook Ads

I keep ads small and local: a tight radius around you, a real offer, photos of your own jobs instead of stock, and a landing page that matches what the ad said. If your site is already losing enquiries, I'll tell you to fix that first. Paying to send more people to it would just waste the money faster.

Someone who's already paid you once is the easiest customer to win again. I set up follow-ups that go out within the hour of an enquiry, reminders that land when the job comes round again, and a mailing list that belongs to you rather than to a platform.

SV-07 Ecommerce growth

This one is for businesses that sell products online instead of booking jobs. The shop itself usually isn't the problem. It's the order things were decided in. I work through a written eleven-part system: who's buying and why, then the offer, then the store, then the copy, and only after that the ads and emails. I do all of it myself. Most people start with the store audit, which shows which of those is actually holding you back, and the fee comes off your first month if you carry on with me.

SV-08 Printing

I can get it printed as well as designed, so you deal with one person from artwork to delivery. Already have a design? Send it over and I'll check it's set up to print properly. Need one? I'll make it, or finish what you've started. Either way you see a proof before anything is printed.

Printing

Everything else I do lives on a screen. This is the part that goes in a hand, through a door or on the side of a van. I'm in Swindon and it's delivered anywhere in the UK.

Seven products, each with its own page listing the sizes, papers and finishes you can actually have. There's no basket: you tell me what the job is, and I quote it and place the order for you.

Already have artwork? Send it over and I'll check it's set up to print properly before anything is ordered. Need the design doing? I'll make it, or finish what you've started. Either way you approve a proof first, because the run starts straight after that.

Landscaping & garden design · Live project · Client not named

A local landscaping firm

Website · Two pages

Eight services and twenty-four towns to cover. The job was a two-page website: a home page that explains the work and gets people to book a site visit, and an Our Work page for finished jobs.

What was delivered

  • Home page

All eight services and the twenty-four towns covered, with booking a site visit as the main action.

  • Our Work

A separate portfolio page for finished jobs, linked from the home page.

  • Enquiries

Click-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, so a phone visitor can get in touch in one tap.

  • Speed pass

Images re-sized and re-encoded after launch, and browser caching switched on. Results below.

Measured on 9 September 2026, before and after the speed pass. "Was" is the same site at launch, not an older website. Enquiry figures aren't shown here because they're the client's to share.

Site monitoring

Most websites get a proper check once, the week they go live. After that the security certificate runs out, someone uploads a photo at full size, or the contact form stops sending, and nobody notices until a customer says something.

Ref SV-06

Every month I go through your site properly: speed, how it looks on a phone, broken links, the security certificate, your forms and how you show up in search. Then I turn it into a short list of what's worth fixing, with whatever is costing you most at the top.

There's no dashboard to log into and no report full of jargon. You get the readout and a line from me on what I'd do about it. If you're on the monthly plan, I just fix the small things.

Every month, for as long as you're with me.

yoursite.co.uk Example
86 / 100 site health +7 this month
  • Pass SSL certificate valid — auto-renews 14 Nov
  • Flagged Mobile load 3.4s — hero image uncompressed, 1.8 MB
  • Flagged 2 service pages missing meta descriptions
  • Pass Contact form delivered 11 enquiries this month
  • Fixed Broken link on /our-work — repaired 2 Mar

Example readout — the format you get each month. The figures are made up to show the layout; they aren't from a client's site.

I'll audit the site you've got now, whoever built it. You get my findings in writing, in order of how much they matter, plus the three fixes I'd do first. Free if you haven't worked with me before: one per business, up to ten pages. After that it's £197, and bigger sites are quoted before I start.

  • Speed, mobile and accessibility check
  • Search visibility and profile review
  • Every place the enquiry path leaks

The same audit every month, and I fix the small things myself instead of just listing them. It's month to month with no minimum term, and 30 days' notice to stop. £49 a month if I build the site. Bigger or multi-site businesses cost more, quoted before I start.

Monthly plans

Three ways to keep the work going once the site is live. Each one includes everything in the one before it, and all three run month to month with 30 days' notice to stop. Websites are priced separately, and you'll never have to take a plan to get a site built.

How it goes

Ref PC-01

  1. 01

    A quick phone call

Twenty minutes talking about the kind of work you want more of. By the end you'll know whether I'm the right person for it.

  2. 02

    A fixed price, in writing

Before anything starts, I send you one page with what I'll do, what it costs and when it'll be done. If there's a monthly part, the page shows the term and what it costs too. The number you agree to is the number you pay.

  3. 03

    Built and shown to you

I send you a private link so you can see it before anyone else does. Changes at this point are included in the price.

  4. 04

    Live, then watched

It goes live on your own domain and hosting. After that the monthly check starts, and I'll get in touch when something needs doing.

If I've built, fixed or audited something for you, a couple of lines on Google about how it went is the most useful thing you can do for the next business owner trying to decide.

Reviews go on my Google Business Profile, where anyone can read them and I can't edit or remove them. Be honest about what went well and what didn't. I'd rather know.
